Description
14″ Honing Steel Rod has an ergonomic, comfortable plastic handle with protective hand guards and a hanging ring at the handle’s end. Longitudinal ridges run along the length of the rod to ensure a smooth re-aligning of the existing knife edge.
Made of ridged steel, honing steel rods are an essential part of knife maintenance, helping to keep blades in tip-top shape until it’s time to sharpen them.
Cleaning
After each honing session, thoroughly wipe it with a clean cloth. Then, every few weeks or so, scrub it in hot soapy water with a synthetic brush or scrub pad just the way you would a gourmet cooking pan, with no steel wool or anything harsh that could scratch.
