  • Use one level teaspoon Insta Cure 1 per 5 lbs. of ground meat
  • One pound of Insta Cure pink curing salt #1 will process approximately 480 pounds of meat

For a basic bacon or ham brine (not including additional flavor ingredients), mix:

  • 1 gal. water
  • 4 oz. (½ cup) Insta Cure #1 pink curing salt
  • 1 lb. 5 oz. (1¾ cup) salt
  • 1 ½ oz. (2¼ Tbsp.) sugar

    I have put some of the #1 cureingsalt to work in a buckboard bacon recipe. Have not used any of the jerky seasonings to use from thi order. I have ordered from Sausage Maker for years and have always found their seasonings to be top notch.
