A nice deep Brown-Mahogany Color, these Collagen Casings 16mm are perfect for smoked sticks, snack sticks, and venison sticks. These casings are pleated into strands that can be unfurled and placed on 1/2″ stuffing tube.
These casings are made to be more durable to carry the weight of the meat when hanging on a smokehouse stick. Made from the hide of cattle, totally edible. Keep refrigerated.

Pro: Durable quality casing, easy to hang in the smoker, and no blow outs. They have a nice snap when eating them, and I love the thinner diameter.
Con: They are somewhat more difficult to stuff, and are more time consuming.
I used a 12mm tube on my 5lb LEM hand crank stuffer. It worked, but I had to uncoil about 32 inches of casing at a time, cut it, and slide that on to the tube. This really slowed things down, and I spent twice as long as if I had used 19mm casings. In the end the final product was excellent, but I recommend buying the smaller 10mm tube, or using larger casings.

I use them in my dehydrator and so far they work great. I have not had any rupture, break or tear. They dry evenly in my dehydrator and help my jerky retain its taste.
